Cape Fear Housing Coalition Attorney Jack Holtzman will explain rights and responsibilities under fair housing laws for renters, homeowners, landlords and housing advocates. Topics will include property coverage, avenues to make complaints or request help and policies regarding gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender tenants. The workshop is free. African American Artisans Lecture

Bellamy Mansion

Catherine Bishir, author of “Bellamy Mansion: An Antebellum Architectural Treasure” and “North Carolina Architecture,” will discuss her new book, “Crafting Lives.” The book explores the work and lives of North Carolina’s African American artisans, who built many of the state’s cities from 1770 to 1900.
