Chamber of Commerce endorses Rouzer congressional campaign

Must read

The United States Chamber of Commerce will endorse the congressional campaign of David Rouzer today during a 4 p.m. press conference at the Wilmington Regional Association of Realtors.

Rouzer is running for North Carolina’s 7th Congressional District, and won the Republican primary on May 6 against Woody White and Chris Andrade.

Moore Hallmark, the executive director of the Chamber’s south eastern district, will represent the American lobbying group and present Rouzer with the official endorsement.

Rouzer will face Jonathan Barfield, Jr. (D) and Wesley Casteen (L) in the general election on Nov. 4.

From 2009 to 2013 Rouzer represented Johnston and Wayne counties as state senator of District 12 in the North Carolina General Assembly. He lost the election to North Carolina’s 7th Congressional District in 2012 by a narrow 0.2 percent margin to longstanding incumbent Mike McIntyre (D).
