The Cape Fear Garden Club awarded 23 Azalea Garden Tour grants to local recipients.

The Cape Fear Garden Club has announced the 23 recipients of its 2014 Azalea Garden Tour grants. The grants total more than $80,000. Recipients include:

  • Airlie Gardens- $3,058
  • New Hanover County Arboretum- $1,400
  • USS North Carolina Battleship- $5,400
  • Bellamy Mansion Museum- $2,000
  • Cameron Art Museum- $5,123
  • Cape Fear Community College- $1,820
  • Cape Fear Museum- $12,000
  • City of Wilmington- $12,475
  • Burgwin Wright House- $1,306
  • Easter Seals- $3,131
  • Full Belly Project- $500
  • Friends School of Wilmington- $1,084
  • Greenfield Lake Collaborative- $5,500
  • Habitat for Humanity- $5,600
  • Mary Washington Howe Pre-K Center- $695
  • Island Montessori- $3,852
  • Mary C. Williams Elementary School- $975
  • New Hanover County Schools Middle School Pathways program- $480
  • New Hanover County Parks and Gardens- $1,938
  • Saint Mary Catholic School- $6,786
  • North Carolina Sorosis- $4,480
  • Latimer House- $950
  • North Carolina Coastal Federation- $710

Additionally, the club awarded University of North Carolina Wilmington and Cape Fear Community College scholarships totaling $3,300.
