A portion of River Road between the Barnards Creek and Motts Creek bridges is closed as the city investigates a potential sink hole.
The section of road closed Wednesday afternoon after city staff noticed cracks forming in the road. The closure is expected to last for the next several days.
Residents living in the residential area near Sanders Road will be allowed access to their homes but no through traffic is being permitted between Sanders and Independence Boulevard. The city has not yet identified what may have caused the potential sinkhole.
