Wrightsville Beach urges hurricane prep

As part of National Hurricane Preparedness Week, May 24-30, Wrightsville Beach urges residents, visitors and business owners to take the following steps to plan ahead for hurricane season:

  • Make an evacuation plan, including plans for pets,
  • Purchase town vehicle tax decals (these serve as identification for re-entry following an evacuation),
  • Prepare plywood or storm shutters to protect property, and
  • Create a disaster preparedness kit (including water, nonperishable foods, flashlights, prescriptions, etc.)
