The YWCA Lower Cape Fear recognized area leaders at its Women of Achievement Awards May 7. Fifty-two women were nominated in nine adult categories as well as the Young Leader Category for high school seniors.
The adult winners are: Charlon Turner, Arts Award; LeeAnne Quattrucci, Business Award; Kimberly Paul, Communications Award; Kathleen Berkeley, Education Award; Kay Lynn Plummer-Hernandez, Environmental Award; Colleen Mistovich, Health and Wellness Award; Deborah Dicks Maxwell, Public Service Award; Ann David, Volunteer Award and Jerri Holliday, Rachel Freeman Unsung Hero Award.
The Young Leader winners are: Caroline Hurt, John T. Hoggard High School; Mariah Grace Sutton, Pender Early College High School and Mikayla Fowler, South Columbus High School.
