The Wilmington Family YMCA has promoted its building manager to the position of membership director, where he will focus on providing customer service.
Patrick O’Brien has worked at the Y since November 2013. Before coming to Wilmington, O’Brien was an assistant general manager at the New York Health and Racquet Club in New York City, a membership manager with the Turner Athletic Club in Atlanta, Georgia, and food and beverage manager at Druid Hills Golf Club in Atlanta. O’Brien has a BA Degree in Sports Management from the University of Massachusetts.
“We are excited to add Patrick to our team. His customer service skills and energy will delight all people who come into contact with him,” says Shannon Berg, Wilmington Family YMCA director of operations.
The personnel move comes as the organization opened a new “Express Y” facility
at the Market Street Plaza Shopping Center to serve its clients after a fire seven months ago damaged the Wilmington Family YMCA’s main facility.
