A new fitness center will open at Mayfaire Town Center this week with the grand opening celebration of Orangetheory Fitness Thursday, April 21 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. the event will offer music, raffle prizes, refreshments, workout demos and a tour of the new studio with expert studio trainers. It is also the last opportunity to purchase memberships at discounted prices.
The fitness center conducts specialized training sessions that consist of short bursts of cardio that are based on the science of excess post-exercise oxygen consumption, with heart-rate-monitored training is designed to keep heart rates in a target zone that stimulates metabolism and increases energy.
The workouts provided by Orangetheory Fitness are designed for all ages at different fitness levels and goals, including weight loss, toning, and maximizing performance. The fitness center is located near Roko Italian Cuisine in Mayfaire Town Center. – Elizabeth Weaver, Intern
