Hamilton recognized for film fight

The North Carolina Metropolitan Mayors Coalition selected North Carolina Rep. Susi Hamilton D-New Hanover and Brunswick to receive a 2014 Metro Mayors Coalition legislative award for her work in support of the film industry.

Comprised of the mayors and city managers of the largest 28 cities in North Carolina, the coalition gives the award to legislators that have fought for the interests of their combined constituency.

“This recognition is especially meaningful to me because of the nature of this particular battle,” stated Hamilton in a press release. “I have been fighting for economic development and job protection and creation across the state, and it’s not over yet. I urge the Governor to call us back to session to properly complete the people’s business. I am very grateful to the NCMMC for their support.”

The award will be presented to Hamilton at the coalition’s annual meeting dinner Oct. 23, in Asheville.
