 Rest

All of My children need rest to heal their human bodies daily

Your spirit needs rest from time to time to keep it sailing

High above all others when times are harder to bare

Without rest you will become weak and at your enemy stare

Instead of battling the darkness presented to confound you

So rest your body and soul and seek the Spirit, it’s all you need do

To mount up on eagles’ wings and fly as you are accustomed to doing

People will see the strength increase as rest presents you for a new viewing

Seen by others as a new person full of worship and overflowing

With the joy of heaven beaming from your spirit and your face glowing

Only rest can renew the longing in your heart to be part of

The Kingdom of God and show the world the eternal love

Given to you when you gave your life to My Son who lives above

All the Earth and the many lives that are set free by His love

So rest and seek peace to surround you and your friends

Rest your body, mind and soul because for a healthy life it depends

(Exo 34:21 NRSV)  Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even in plowing time and in harvest time you shall rest.

(Psa 116:7 NRSV)  Return, O my soul, to your rest, for the LORD has dealt bountifully with you.

(Isa 11:2 NRSV)  The spirit of the LORD shall rest on him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD.

(Isa 14:7 NRSV)  The whole earth is at rest and quiet; they break forth into singing.

(Mat 11:28 NRSV)  “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”

(Mat 11:29 NRSV)  Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

(Heb 4:3 NRSV)  For we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said, “As in my anger I swore, ‘They shall not enter my rest,’” though his works were finished at the foundation of the world.

(Heb 4:9 NRSV)  So then, a sabbath rest still remains for the people of God;

(Heb 4:10 NRSV)  for those who enter God’s rest also cease from their labors as God did from his.
