McFall received the designation during a luncheon at the 2014 NCSSWA Fall Conference, which took place Nov. 12-14. She advanced as a state finalist after being awarded the social worker of the year award for the southeast region in September.

McFall will be recognized by the New Hanover County Board of Education for her designation as 2014 North Carolina Social Worker of the Year at its Dec. 2 board meeting.
