Visitors to the Wrightsville Beach area will have another option for lodging with the recent opening of the Springhill Suites Marriott on 1014 Ashes Dr., off of Sir Tyler Drive and across from Mayfaire Town Center.
The new hotel is the fourth to open in the area around Mayfaire, including the Hilton Garden Inn, Homewood Suites and Residence Inn Wilmington Landfall.
“The area around Mayfaire and Military Cutoff Road is one of the hot areas in Wilmington,” said Kip Damrow, director of sales for the Springhill Suites Marriott. “This is an attractive location that provides convenient access to Wrightsville Beach.”
The 120-room hotel consists entirely of suites, with every room offering a desk, a living room area and a kitchenette. The facility will market to several groups of travelers, including business travelers, vacationers, families visiting students at University of North Carolina Wilmington and wedding parties. The hotel includes a bridal suite and is located close to the Terraces on Sir Tyler, which hosts weddings and other events.
