The Heide Trask Drawbridge was temporarily stuck in the raised position after it opened around noon Wednesday, causing traffic backups on Eastwood Road and Wrightsville Avenue.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation was having issues closing the bridge, town manager Tim Owens stated in an email. The bridge was open about 25 minutes, but it is now down and traffic flow has resumed.
