Tens of Thousands of Early Votes Cast

New Hanover County, NC – Early voting sites across the county are now closed as the early vote period ended at 3 pm Saturday, November 5. The next opportunity to vote is election day Tuesday, November 8 at each voter’s designated precinct. Polls will open at 6:30 am and close at 7:30 pm.

More than 48,000 voters turned out during the early voting period to cast their votes. The early vote, according to data from the New Hanover County Board of Election, was nearly evenly distributed between registered Democrats, Republicans, and those Unaffiliated.

Tuesday will determine the makeup of the New Hanover County Boards of Commissioners and Board of Education, New Hanover County sheriff, county representation in the North Carolina General Assembly, US Senate and House members, the state judiciary, and other offices.
