The National Weather Service has downgraded the tropical storm threatening South Carolina and cancelled the flash flood watch, but Tropical Depression Julia is still forecast to bring southeastern North Carolina rain, rip currents and a small craft advisory through Saturday morning.

The NWS said there is a high risk of rip currents over area beaches today and that the area could see up to 2 inches of rain through Saturday at 8 a.m. Over coastal waters a small craft advisory is in effect with seas of 5 to 8 feet and winds of 20 to 25 knots.
