Museum shrimperoo honors two local volunteers

The annual Wrightsville Beach Museum of History Wright Holman Shrimperoo was held at Lumina Hall Sunday, Oct. 5.

Before guests heaped their plates with steaming shrimp, corn, baked beans and banana pudding, Wrightsville Beach Museum of History director Madeline Flagler spoke the two men this year’s event honored. Chris Stone and Wright Holman were both volunteers with the museum and passionate about preserving the history of the town they loved.

In past years, Stone and Holman boiled the heaps and heaps of shrimp for the event. This year, shrimp boiling duties fell to Stone’s son, Josh Stone, and Kyle Lackey. Guests sat around tables, dining on shrimp and listening to music provided by the South Hammocks Bluegrass band.
