Beginning Wednesday, April 1, no pets are permitted on the Wrightsville Beach strand through Wednesday, Sept. 30.
Pets are permitted in town limits and when accompanied by their owner must be leashed. Owners are responsible for picking up and properly disposing of pet waste. Any violations of these ordinances may be punishable with fines up to $250 for the first offense.
