The National Weather Service has issued a warning for freezing rainĀ for Thursday evening and Friday in southeast North Carolina and Governor Pat McCrory has declared a state of emergency in anticipation of Friday’s weather.
But while nearby Columbus, Bladen and Pender counties are under a warning for freezing rain, New Hanover and Brunswick counties currently are not. However, the Wilmington area is still forecast to get hit with between 1 and 2 inches of rain over the next two days. And a recent NWS report showed that New Hanover may be added to the freezing rain warning, primarily for concerns about bridges icing.
