Wrightsville Beach lifts boil water advisory for south end

Must read

Wrightsville Beach has lifted the boil water advisory it issued yesterday for residents and businesses on the south end of the island. The town issued the advisory yesterday afternoon at about 12:30 p.m., after a water main break at 9 a.m. that disrupted services along Waynick Boulevard and South Lumina Avenue south of Stone Street. After the break was repaired, periods of low pressure had increased the potential for contamination, and Wrightsville Beach residents were advised to boil all water before consumption.  There is no evidence of harmful bacteria in the distribution system and water may be used normally for all purposes, town officials said.
