Wilmington Symphony Orchestra to Perform

Wilmington, NC – The next Masterworks concert held by the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra is slated for Saturday, November 12 at the Wilson Center on the downtown campus of Cape Fear Community College, 703 North 3rd Street. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available for Saturday’s performance. 

In addition to Symphony No. 4 by Brams, Internationally renowned cellist, Amit Peled, will join the Wilmington Symphony. Peled, raised on a kibbutz in Israel, will perform Haydn’s Cello Concerto in C and Bruch’s Kol nidrei on the Wilson Center stage. 

Amit Peled is a professor at the Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University where he has taught since 2003 and was one of the youngest professors ever hired by a major conservatory. He has instructed students who have gone on to garner top prizes at international competitions such as the Carlos Prieto International Competition in Mexico, the Schoenefeld International Competition in China, and Young Concert Artists Guild in New York. 

Founded in 1971, the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra provides symphonic music at the highest degree of excellence through performance opportunities for regional musicians and educational programs for our community’s youth.
